Frequently Asked Questions
- Many of the newer subdivisions around Lynchburg, Forest, and Timberlake require architectural review committee approval before any exterior modification, including permanent lighting. We prepare the submission packet for you, including design renderings, hardware specifications, and color samples. We have a strong approval track record because the systems we install sit inside the existing trim and are not visible from the street when off. If your association has unusual requirements, tell us during the initial consultation and we will design to them.
- Yes. We background check every crew member, we can provide credentials in advance of a scheduled visit, and we coordinate access through whatever protocol you need. Gated communities and security-conscious estate properties are common in our Forest, Timberlake, and Bedford work and we have it built into our intake process.
- Yes. Downtown Lynchburg, Amherst, Bedford, and Appomattox all have historic properties and review considerations, and we have been through the process. We use a concealed-channel install method that does not penetrate visible historic fabric and is not visible from the street when the lights are off. We have prepared and submitted historic district packages successfully and we can walk you through what to expect from the approval timeline.
- Our service territory is roughly a 25-mile radius around Lynchburg. That covers Lynchburg city, Madison Heights, Timberlake, Forest, Rustburg, Concord, Evington, Monroe, Goode, Coleman Falls, Amherst, Big Island, Bedford, Altavista, Appomattox, Spout Spring, Gladys, Lynch Station, and the surrounding Blue Ridge foothills communities. We keep the territory tight on purpose. It means our crews know the neighborhoods, our response times on service calls stay short, and we are not routing a truck two hours each way. If you are just outside the radius, call us anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can serve you well.
- Yes, easily. Virginia winters are mild compared to the Northeast or Midwest. Snow events are typically three to six inches and ice storms are the more demanding weather. The equipment we install is rated for far harsher conditions than Virginia produces, which is actually a reason permanent lighting performs so well here. You get the year-round flexibility, app-controlled color and pattern, and seasonal programs without the equipment fighting the weather the way it would further north.
- For Central Virginia, we recommend reaching out by mid-September. Our late October and November calendar fills early. The install window here is longer than in New England because the weather is milder, but the booking pattern still favors customers who plan ahead. Permanent lighting installs run year-round and lead times are shorter.
